• LL.B. degree from São Paulo University Law School (1969), attended Consumer Law classes in the European Community, at the University of Louvain La Neuve, Belgium (1993). Silvio was a judge in the state of São Paulo for 25 years and after his retirement he associated to law firm Demarest Almeida Advogados, in the city of São Paulo, now, as a former partner. He taught at several Law Schools in the state of São Paulo and is frequently invited for lectures all over the country. He is a member of the São Paulo Academy of Judges (APAMAGIS), Brazilian Judges Association (AMB), Brazilian Institute of Consumer Law (BRASILCON); author of “Coleção Direito Civil” (Civil Law Collection) in seven volumes: General Part, General Theory of Obligations and General Theory of Contracts, Specific Contracts, Indemnification, Real Estate, Family Law and Succession; Act of Rent; and Comments on the New Brazilian Civil Code – all by Atlas Publishing House; and “Commercial Code and Business Legislation” by Malheiros Publishing House. Besides those books, Silvio Venosa is the author of a large number of essays.
